Has Revival Come to America?

By Dr. Mark Denison

At Revival in Our Time, we pray for revival every day. We are an army of 120 prayer partners, representing 12 ministries around the world. We are in India, Kenya, Russia, and all over America. We minister in prisons and orphanages, to children and students. We are evangelistic crusades in America and around the world. We are ministries ministering to ministries. We are all about revival.

But while everyone else is asking whether revival can come to America, we are asking if it already has.

Consider some interesting data.

In China, there is a person born again every three seconds. That is 28,800 converts every day. In Brazil, revivals are held for students at 10:00 pm, after school activities and homework – with 2,000 in attendance.

But what about America?

Let’s look at Batesburg, South Carolina. From 2014-2016 evangelist Damon Thompson preached a revival. For two years. In two years, the town went from one of South Carolina’s most dangerous cities to one of its safest. Similar things are happening in the Florida Panhandle and West Virginia. My friend Rick Gage is seeing hundreds of students come to Christ in his stadium crusades across the South.

Can revival come to America? Has revival already come to America?

We know two things. First, it’s too early to tell. Second, we never know revival has come until we see the results and manifestations of God’s blessings years later.

So has revival already come to America? Perhaps the movement has already begun. What we have seen in recent days may be the seeds from which a mighty revival will blossom. Has revival already come? Our 120 prayer partners are praying it has. And we will keep praying until we know for sure. And then we’ll pray some more.
