The Luke 18 Project

By Dr. Mark Denison - December 10th, 2018

One of the most unusual revival movements of recent years is The Luke 18 Project.

The Luke 18 Project is a ministry that began at the International House of Prayer (IHOP) in Kansas City. I have been to this church several times; they have held one continuous, uninterrupted worship service for 20 years. It is an amazing experience for anyone who wants a real encounter with God. The worship is powerful and the atmosphere is unlike anything Ive ever seen. There is an anticipation of meeting God, whether you show up at 2:00 pm or 2:00 am.

The Luke 18 Project is based on the promise of Luke 18:7-8, "And shall God not avenge his own elect who cry out day and night to him, though he bears long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily."

The movement trains students to take the Gospel to college campuses around the United States and Canada. Of special note is the revival that has broken out in Winnipeg, where students gather on multiple campuses with a mission of creating a culture that lifts up the name of Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit to bring salvation and healing. Another emphasis of the movement is the end times. Students proclaim the urgency of coming to Christ in the last days.

One thing that makes this movement unusual is that it is rooted in the prayers of young Christ-followers. They have no funding or organization to speak of. What they do have is an incredible passion for Christ.
