GO TELL Crusade Sees 600 Decisions for Christ!
By Dr. Mark Denison
For three nights, the new Challenger Columbia Stadium in Webster, Texas was filled with thousands of men, women, students, and children – all coming to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. Evangelist and founder of GO TELL Ministries, Rick Gage, led a world class team of preachers, worship leaders, and special guests, in bringing the Gospel to the fourth largest city in the United States.
The Houston Bay Area Crusade featured two retired baseball All-Stars who are no strangers to Houston: Andy Pettitte and Lance Berkman. Tony Nolan and Scott Camp ministered, as well. But clearly, it was Jesus Christ who was at the center of every school assembly and crusade event.
The crusade was held April 7-9. Volunteers from 50 area churches contributed their financial resources and time to bring guests, provide counseling, and serve on multiple teams that made the event possible. For two years, the Go Tell team has been planning and praying for this crusade. Their prayers were answered in mighty ways.
The numbers speak for themselves. Gage spoke to 40,000 students in area school assemblies. Total attendance for the three nights was about 10,000, with over 600 making public decisions for Christ.
Rejoicing over God’s blessings, Gage said, “I am grateful for the many Bible teaching evangelistic churches and hundreds of volunteers who participated in the Bay Area GO TELL Crusade. Only heaven can measure the impact that was made in so many lives through this outreach.”
Steve Long, a lifelong Houstonian, served as a counselor for the crusade. He said, “The GO TELL Crusade was the greatest single event for revival that the Houston area has seen in years. The message brought was not only for the believer, but also for those who have not made a decision on eternity for Jesus. Many followed the leading and prompting of the Holy Spirit and surrendered their lives to Jesus at the crusade event.”
